About the Day of the Dead
Dia De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead, was created to celebrate the dead. According to popular belief,on the first and second of November, the deceased have divine permission to visit friends and relatives on earth and share the pleasures of the living. On these days the host may put out an extra place setting at the table. A shrine may be put up for the dead. Skeletons are the decoration of the day. The skull symbolizes death. Celebrations vary from country to country. Everywhere the dead are welcomed with ceremony and respect.
