HOT
BUTTERED
RUM
Here is a recipe for great hot
buttered rum:
1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
1 pat butter or margerine
1 small scoop vanilla ice cream
(the more, the creamier)
1 dash cinnamon
1 dash nutmeg
1 dash ground cloves
3 capfuls (1 jigger) dark rum
Combine all ingredients in a cup,
and add hot water. Stir. Sprinkle nutmeg on top. Enjoy!
Rum flavoring may be substituted
for rum for a non-alcoholic drink!
All ingredients but the Rum and
water may be pre-mixed and then frozen for later use. Scoop out a
single serving, add rum and hot water. |

FRANGO
MINTS
Here is a recipe for Frango Mints
12 oz Chocolate
1 Peppermint
extract
1/2 c Margarine
1 1/2 c Powdered sugar
2 Eggs
2 ts Vanilla
Melt and cool chocolate. Cream
together margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add cooled chocolate
and a few drops of mint to creamed mixture. Pack into 8 inch square
pan. Cool and set and cut into squares. |

FIGGY
PUDDING
Here is a recipe for Figgy Pudding
Cream one stick butter until fluffy,
beat in two eggs and one cup molasses. Add two cups dried figs, 1/2 tsp
grated lemon peel, one cup buttermilk, and 1/2 cup walnuts; blend one minute.
Add 2 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt,
1/2 tsp cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp nutmeg. Blend until incorporated. Pour into
a greased/floured 8x4 soufflé dish and bake 1 hour at 325 degrees.
Garnish with whipped cream. |

THE BEST CHEESEBALL
A slightly spicy cheeseball with
a lot of zing. If you don't like cilantro, you can roll the ball in shredded
Cheddar cheese or fresh chopped parsley at the end.
Ingredients:
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese,
softened
3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup Monterey Jack cheese with
jalapeno chile peppers
1/2 green bell pepper, minced
1 jalapeno chile pepper - seeded,
deveined and minced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
Directions: In a medium bowl combine
the cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, green bell
pepper, chile pepper, Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt. Mix together
and form mixture into a ball. Roll ball in cilantro and serve with your
favorite crackers. |
