***Please Note*** HOW WE DID LAST YEAR!!! Overall we did pretty good last year. First in the Political predictions, we predicted that the new president would be Republican and Male. The Us did have another terrorist attack but not on U.s. Soil. We were off the mark about Hawaii wanting to seceed from the union and that Us and Russia would have strianed relations. In the Economy we predicted that the internet will take it's toll on retailers and that Lamonts would close forever. The Microsoft Breakup was the only thing we predicted in Technology that came true. We predicted a bad winter and were right sorry! In Music News, we predicted the break up of Rage against the machine, and more and more music was published first on the net but were off the mark about Tower Recors. In Entertainment we predicted that network censors would go lax and that more court Tv shows would serfice on tv. We were way off base in Seattle news. We suck To see last years predictions click this here. PREDICTIONS FOR 2001 POLITICS 1. First off I don't think George Bush will last in office. It will be this year or the next but The Vice President will be taking over. 2. The U.s. Will have more Terrorist Attac warnings overseas and one may hit u.s. Soil 3. There will be a big fuss to end the electorial colege. It will not happen though 4. Puerto Rico will solve once and for all the issue of becoming another state or stay a territory of the U.s. 5. George Bush will be not liked by leaders of other countries causing strained relations for years to come. ECONOMY 6. I don't care what they say we are headed for a recession. 7. Montgomery Ward won't be the last retailer to go belly up this year. In fact there may be many. This will be due to bad sales toward the end of theyear. 8. The dot coms will continue to have a bad year. 9. Amazon.com will fold toward the end of 2001 TECHNOLOGY 10. Dsl will continue to be the hot item this year however many providers will continue to fold. Go Figure. 11. Cable will fizzle 12. Toward the end of the year a new internet connectivity will be announced that will work with standard modems. It will end up costing less than Dsl and prove to be faster. 13. ISP's Will drop like crazy causing people to jump to othere isps and thus creating backlogs and traffic on the net. This will be a major issue in 2001. 14. Household appliances will get smarter 15. The major Phone companies will be under pressure to change their ways. 16. Cell phones will end up to ousell new landline phones. MOTHER NATURE 17. A major city on the West Coast will get a Major Earthquake with devistatin effects 18. The winter will continue to be cold for the west and eastern half of the U.s. The Pacific coast will have a mild wet winter. 19. More Mutant species of animals will show up. 20. Scientists will find life on another planet perhaps not in our solar system MUSIC 21. This will be Pearl Jam's Last year!!! 22. Grunge rock will be resurected but only for a short time in August. 23. There will be three major deaths in the music industry this year. At least one will be from a supergroup. 24. Madonna's album Music will be a flop PEOPLE/ENTERTAINMENT 25. Madonna will stay married to Guy Ritchie this year at least. Don't expect anything big from her for a couple of years. Madonna will be living the quiet life enjoying mother hood. 26. Cancelled will be Jenny Jones, Sally Jesse Raphael and Jerry Springer to name a few. 27. Don't expect big money makers at the box office this year. 28. Remember the year Lady Dianna died? It seemed like everyone was dying. Well this year will be worse. 29. More and More people will be converting to Dvd and video stores too. SEATTLE 30. Boeing will lay off people in the summer 31. The Seattle Music scene will be celebrated again in August. 32. Emp will report losses and may change it's format drastically to survive. 33. Seattle will get it's biggest earthquake since 1965. It may not be centered in Seattle but it will be felt in Seattle and cause damage throughout the Puget Sound. 34. The Mariners will go to the World Series this year 35. Seatle retailer Cellophane Square sadly will close it's doors. |
