The Seatle Mariners first home game in Safeco Field will happen this Thursday July 15. The opening game is sold out. Ticket brokerages were selling the lowest price tickets for $500.00 a piece. Last weeks brain teaser and answer
Say this figure shows a portion of a complicated curved line that is completely closed, meaning that the ends meet like a huge rubber band. Some areas are inside the  closed region, and other areas are outside it. But you can see only the
encircled portion. The rest of the curve is unknown to you. An O marks a spot that is on the outside. Where is the spot marked X? Is it on the inside or the outside?

No matter what the curve looks like, X must be on the outside, too. The next figure is one example. (You can draw many more yourself.) Take a closer look at it. Because O is known to be on the outside, every region next to O's region must be on the inside.
¡DavE!'s NEWS
8 July to 13 July 1999
I just love the summer. This week I went to the beach and got sunburned really bad. Solange and I are having our annual suntan contest. She is one shade up on me but I'll catch up to her this week end. Serena, Stef and I went to the park on Monday and they had fun. Today we went to Grandma Caroles and they played with the chalk and crazy daisy.
well see you next week!

COMPLAINTS OF THE WEEK
Hey It's summer time so here is a little list of rules to remember about summer in Puget Sound.
Seattle Summer-Summer doesn't really start in Puget Sound until July 5.
The Lake Rule-Lakes are ok to go to ulness women are involved. They will always complain that a cow died in there. However, if you take them to the Sound or Ocean beaches they will be fine.
Party Planning rule-It will always rain if you plan an outdoor party
The popsicle Man Rule-This is a biggie. The popsicle man must arrive five minutes before dinner time. Additional note-The popsicle man will keep the same tune for ten years. But you will learn to ignore it after 9 years.
Sunblock/Sunglasses rule-The sunblock and Sunglasses you bought last year will go into hiding on May 15th. Don't worry they will immediatly show up when you buy a  new pair or when you do your winter cleaning whichever comes first.
Traffic Light Rule-Traffic lights will always take longer when the mercury rises.
Have A safe summer! =-}
