CHINESE NEW YEAR
1. House Cleaning-The entire house
should be cleaned before New Years day. Otherwise you are wiping away good
fortune
2. After New Years the house is
cleaned from the door to the middle of the room. Then placed in the corners
until the fifth day. After that it may be carried out to the garbage.
3. Chinese not only get rid of
the new year by lighting firecrackers, but they also must leave all of
the doors and windows open to usher out the old and bring in the new.
4.. If you cry on the new year,
itis believed you will cry all year.
5. Washing your hair on a New Years
day could mean bad luck.
6. Red is worn to symbolize a bright

Friday 12 Feb-
i've been pretty much off the web
this week. I don't know why but it seems nice to once in a while visit
the real world. Did my taxes, boy am I gonna score big this year. Serena
had a valentines day party at school and I found out she has a crush on
one of her school friends. She is off this week so we are going to go to
seattle for the Chinese New Year. Well until next week. See you later.

| COMPLAINTS
OF THE WEEK |
| D.S.H.S. has closed Little
Hands Daycare in Everett this week, After nearly two years of complaints
and a lengthy investigation. Recently a staff member at ¡DavE!'s
Whirled Wide Web! Had a child enrolled in the center but pulled her out
due to neglect. As recently as January our investigative reporters had
learned of more neglect. There were many times children were unsupervised.
In one instance, children were allowed to go to the front office where
the check in desk was. However there was0 no adult supervision at the time.
Leaving the door open for a child to get hurt or even worse, taken by a
stranger. The center's owne, Lamae Mitchell has recently said that she
wants to re-open the Daycare. However with the charges filed against
the daycare, this should never happen. If your child attended Little Hands
Daycare, Please call Linda Moss (425)339-1928 and let them know your side
of the story. |
