Since most of the Metro Drivers attended the service, Passengers had to find other means of transportation in the morning. Metro however told it's customers to take a taxi and send the bill to Metro and they would pay for it. In addition to today's service, Metro announced that they were retireing route 359.

Christmas Traditions around the world
·The choice of December 25 was made by the Pope Julius I in the fourth century AD because this coincided with the pagan rituals of Winter Solstice, or Return of the Sun. The intent was to replace the pagan celebration with the Christian one.
·In 1752, 11 days were dropped from the year when the switch was made from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar. The December 25 date was effectively moved 11 days backwards. Some Christian church sects, called old calendarists, still celebrate Christmas on January 7 (previously Dec. 25 of the Julian calendar.)
·Many of the traditions associated with Christmas, like the giving of gifts, lighting a Yule log, singing carols, and decorating an evergreen) hark back to the older religions.

¡Journal!
Dear Journal,
This week was pretty fun. First Serena and I went on a field trip with her school. We went to the Story Book Theatre's production of Sleeping Beauty. It was one of the best play's I have ever seen. Serena loved it. Afterwards, we all went to Mcdonalds for lunch. I really love Serena's pre-school  program it is great. She has done more here than she ever had done at the daycare. On monday Serena and I made Jelly to give as gifts. Bummer! I have to make two more batches. Oh well I better get cooking. Til next week

"Rude passengers on Metro Buses."
I saw something on the news this week that really pisses me off. This week a week after a metro driver was killed, assults on bus drivers increased. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that. What kind of stupid idiot would attack a bus driver especially after such a tragedy? I would have thought that these crimes would have gone down. What really makes me sick, is that these people are being rude because they can't follow the rules. They think the world was made just for them and no one else and they demand to stop at an unscheduled busstop, or refuse to pay a fare. Then they take it out on the same person who was kind enough to take a job driving a route for metro. I don't get it. I hope what they say is true. What goes around comes around.=-\
