¡Are you ready for Winter?!
Winter is coming and this year it could mean snow and cold. Don't be left with a huge Pud bill. Here are some tips you should be doing now.
1. Inspect your home for cold air leaks.-Most of the times it's around the doors and windows. Try this at night when it is cold, You may be surprised at the "Breeze" you feel. Once you find the leaks, get weather striping to fix it.
2. Contact your local utility and get tips on how to conserve energy.-My utility company has a book of things to do to save money on your electric bill. I use it as a checklist oh what I need to fix to prepare for winter.
3. Do you have enough warm blankets?- An extra blanket at night can mean lower power bills. Check around they are on sale.
4. Is your home prepared for power outages??-Do you have flashlights, heat a plan?
Remeber, your winter bill makes up most of your yearly heating and electric costs. Doesn't it make sense to try to cut it down?

¡Journal!
Dear Journal,
What a busy week. First, Serena got the flu and She had to stay home from her babysitters for a couple of days. For a while there we thought she wouldn't be able to go trick or treating. But her fever broke on Friday night and so on Saturday we went to the mall to go trick or treating. There were many great costumes there. She dressed up as a princess. After the mall we went over to grandma and grandpa's house and she got some big candy bars there. The next day was Dia de los Muertos so I went down to Seattle to celebrate. I was going to the reading at six. I decided to stop by the new Nordstrom and Pacific Place first to check it out. I though it was pretty overpriced and the stores were really no big deal. So I left and went down to Pioneer Square for my reading. There was no parking due to a Seahawks game. So after cirleing the blocks about twenty times, it dawned on me that the bookstore was closed. They must have gotten the times wrong was all i could think of. On Monday, Serena started her first day of Ecap. This was the big one. She actually goes at a public school for two hours a day. She loves it and I love the program too. She got go to the Library and play in gym and she even got to make a picture of her name. It is so cool. That night to celebrate Dia de los Muertos, I had a dinner for my parents and friends. We had authentic mexican cuisene. On Tuesday, while Serena was in school, I went and voted. Well I That's all for this week.

¡And now for !'s opportunity to chip his teeth!
"If you don't vote, you can't Bitch"
Well it was election day this week, and I decided to take my official ¡DavE!'s voting poll(Ask the first ten people you see) And you know what? out of ten, only one person voted! Why? Because the nine people aren't registered. This is a shame. There is no reason not to vote, and there is no reason not to register. If you don't vote you can't complain of the outcome. One person I talked to told me that she thought the hole idea of voting was stupid. Stupid I asked. How could choosing the next laws or lawmakers be stupid. It is our great American rite. There are many countries who's citizens don't even think about getting the chance to vote. Sure the law or lawmaker you vote for may not get elected. But I know I still feel safe in the fact that I may have had a decision that could effect our lives for the good.=->
