¡Seattle gets Old Navy!
¡Store is just the latest in openings!
Seattle welcomed the opening of Old Navy in the former I. magnin store. Singer Donna Summer and actress Morgan Fairchild were on hand for the festivities. The first 500 people in the store, recieved a free pair of jeans. The store is just the latest in a big trend for Seattle, which saw the opening of Nordstrom and the Bennyroyal hall last week. Next month the multi million dollar Pacific Place will open. In additon to all of the openings, The Bon Marche, The convention center, and Westlake center are all planning major remodelings this year.

¡Journal!
Dear Journal,
Well I spent the week wrapping up my vacation with Serena. On Wednesday we went to visit  a friend in Seattle. On Thursday it was Serena's birthday so Heather and I took her to the Seattle Center. We went on the Space Needle first she loved it but mom and dad were kind of shaken from the hight. After that we took her to the Children's museum. What a great place. Before we left Seattle we went on some rides. Then we took her out to dinner. We decided to give her a few presents for here birthday and save the rest for her party. I gave her a kitchen set and some of my old legos. She played with the legos all day the next day.  On Friday we stayed home most of the day and cleaned house. Saturday we went to Remlinger Farms. I highly suggest you go there it's great. There is a two dollar train ride that the kids love. I have pic's that I will post on the site soon. Sunday was the big birthday party. She got a ton of presents. Well I have to get going. I have to go back to work tomorrow and I wish I didn't. So I'm going to go surf. Till next week Na Noo Na Noo

"The savings are in the card"
One of the most annlying things is when a business wants you to join a club in order to recieve special savings. Earlier this year two nationally known businesses started club card savings programs. Safeway and Rite Aid. Both claim to give you better discounts if you use the card when you shop. In reality the stores are using the cards to see how you the consumer shop. I feel this is an invaision of your privacy. What we buy should not be linked to who we are. We should not have to have a card to save money. If the stores that are doing this really want to help the consumer out, they should do it by offering better savings without inconveinience to the consumer. Not only do these stores take your personalla information like name, address and phone number, but they require you to have the card. This will surely create a problem for those who are in a hurry becuase there will be that unprpared person in line who has to dig around to find their card. Or maybe the new customer who has to fill out information. I say we must let these stores know how we feel about these cards. Let the store personnel or management know that this is an inconvenience and you don't like it. Boycott these stores. If they find out they are loosing customers because of the Card, they will drop it. Most of all the best way to save money, is to shop wisely with no strings atatched!!!=-)
