| Portland's annual North By Northwest
music event happened this weekend. the event drew over 300 bands. Many
from the Pacific Northwest. The event is both a showcase for bands as well
as a conference. 0ne of the topics Discussed were how bands need to drop
all of the glitz of the 90's and focus more on the mellow 70's. The event
showcased more than 300 bands at various clubs around the city. |

Big news around here this week
was The car that I have driven is history. I put it up for sale because
it is a piece of junk. Serena thinks that we will have to take the bus
again, but I told her that we are getting another car in it's place. Serena's
thumb is healing well,. It's still bruised pretty badly though. This
week we are going to make pinata's out of paper mache. That should be fun
and exciting. Well till next week, have fun surfing!

"Trusting your childs caregiver"
This week, a friend of mine had an
incident with her babysitter. Apparently, the sitter who was supposedly
watching the kids. Paid no attention to them. The result was a one year
old, walking into traffic by himself. Luckilly, he was not killed. This
was a family friend. All though the truth is, you can never find the perfect
caregiver for your child, make sure that you look for some signs. When
you interview your babysitter, make sure you feel comfortable when hiring
them. Check past references. When the sitter is hired, talk to your children.
Ask them how everything went. Chances are your children will tell you the
good and the bad. Also ask your neighbors if anything weird or unusuall
happened. While these method's aren't fool proof, They certainly could
help and hopefully prevent, another child that suffered because of a sitter's
neglect.=-) |
