It all started
in 1973. Stevie's first band was a group out of San Francisco called "Fritz".
Unfortunately Stevie left that band along with Lindsey Buckingham to form
Buckingham-Nicks.
It was this album that led to both Nicks
and Buckingham joining Fleetwood Mac. Stevie enjoyed great success in Fleetwood
Mac. Generating the groups only Number one hit. "Dreams".
In 1981 The members
Of Fleetwood Mac decided to take a break. This gave Stevie a chance to
launch her solo career. Her first album "Bella Donna" Was a Huge
success. Creating four top 40 hits. Her follow up album "The Wild Heart"
was just as much a success generating 3 top 40 hits. Stevie's next album
"Rock A Little" generated only two top 40 hits.
Stevie took a breather and
waited four years until releasing "The Other Side Of the Mirror" Unfortunately
the album gained little success and Stevie chose Fleetwood Mac over her
Solo career. Stevie released "Timespace the best of Stevie Nicks"
The album included all of her hits from her past albums, as well as two
new ones including a tribute song to the U.S. troops that served in the
gulf war. It wasn't until 1994, that Stevie released another album. "Street
Angel" was a modest attempt at a comeback for Nicks, however it didn't
garner any hits or hype.
Stevie's Comeback started
in 1996 with the releasing of the Twister soundtrack. Stevie Reunited with
Lindsey Buckingham and sang a duet called "Twisted" This eventually led
to the reunion of Fleetwood Mac.
At the end of the tour, Stevie
was called up by her new label Atlantic to do a boxed set of her work.
Stevie released "Enchanted" A box set containing her past hits as
well as unreleased songs and some new ones as well. Stevie will kick off
a tour in May and release a new solo album next year. So in honor of Stevie
Nicks, everyone get out your old Fleetwood Mac Tapes, or her Solo albums
and play them all day on May 26th. In honor of her.
Other Stevie Nicks Facts-

without Fleetwood Mac. In 1978 she recorded "Whenever I call you friend"

copy of Sandy Stewart's album "Cat Dancer" in which Stevie co-wrote and
sings in nearly every song. It's almost like an extra Stevie solo album!
Stevie wrote the song "Sorcerer"
on the soundtrack for "Streets of fire"
If you watch the movie "Running
Man" you can see Stevie very briefly in a walk on as Mick Fleetwood's wife.
The artist formally known as prince,
is who plays the bass on "Stand Back" but you will never find it in any
of the album's credits.
