| When oh when will the prejudice stop in America? It seems like every
day on the news, you hear about some misjustice against a minority
or race. Well, it all starts simply with your self. I know one example
that I've been guilty of and so has just about everyone I know. It's called
"Telling the descriptive story" You know the one. Something happened at
work, or when you were shopping. Ie- That Black Guy looked suspicious or
that Asian woman over there.... I've never understood what difference it
makes to mention the race of the person. Usually when someone says the
race, they accentuate it trying to make the story more dramatic. I've even
caught myself doing it. But when I do, I usually say "That guy in the red
shirt and blue pants looked suspicious" or "That woman over there". I mean
how many times do you hear "That White guy stole the car" Not often.
It all may seem trivial but prejudice starts and ends when we decide.
It may sound proverbial but "We all bleed the same color blood" And "In
darkness we are all the same color" The bottom line is Can't we all just
get along?
