The Birth

Opening Scene: The Hospital Waiting room
"I can't believe it." Thought Caleb. "Kjercia's going into Labor. Rusty
and I practically had sex and Charlene is back. Decisions, what to do..."
Caleb exchanged looks with Rusty.
"I need a cigarette" said Rusty
"I'm going to wait here" said Caleb. "I'm going to wait for Celeste
to get here ."
Just then Velma walks in "Here I brought you guys some drinks. Has
she had the kid yet?"
"No" Said Caleb
"Where's everybody?" Asked Velma
"Rusty went to go smoke, Celeste is on her way." said Caleb "And I
have know idea where Charlene is."
"Hopefully lost" said velma under her breath
"What was that?" said Caleb
"Uh nothing" said Velma "I was thinking if anyone had called kjercia's
mom."
"Gosh" said Caleb "I never thought of that"
Just then Debbie walked in looking like the batcaver that she was.
"Kjercia's fine" she said "She's a little dilated but the she is not
going into labor just yet"
"Oh Man" said Caleb "Look I'm going to see where Rusty is."
Caleb Left
"So has anyone called Kjercia's Mom?" said Velma
"Yes" said Debbie "she is on her way"
Just then Charlene and Dawna came in
"Where's Caleb" asked Charlene
"Now's not the time" said Velma in her coldest voice
"Look we also wanted to know how your friend is" said Dawna
"Bullshit" said Velma "You two didn't even know her."
"She's doing fine" Said Debbie
"Caleb will be back soon" said Velma "Just don't fuck with him"
"Velma let's go get some coffee" said Debbie
and the two of them left. Dawna and Charlene exchanged looks.
"Maybe this wasn't a good idea" said Charlene "Maybe we should leave"
"No" said Dawna "It's time you told Caleb the truth" |

Meanwhile, out in the parking lot in the hospital smoking area...
"Kjercia's doing fine" said Caleb as he walked up to Rusty
"That's good" said Rusty
"Got a light" Said Caleb. Caleb's mind was racing. He was drawn to
Rusty more than ever and couldn't stop thinking of what happened in the
hotel room. Rusty Lit Caleb's Cigarette for him. They exchanged Looks.
"What?" asked Rusty
"Nothing" said Caleb in a tone that really meant everything.
"Bullshit" said Rusty
"It's just that I'm worried about Kjercia that's all" Said Caleb
"You're not that worried." said Rusty "you were more concerned over
what happened in the hotel room."
Rusty was right but Caleb didn't want to admit it.
"Don't worry, just call her" said Rusty
"Who?" said Caleb
"Charlene" said Rusty "That is what's on your mind right?"
Caleb was knocked out of his daze.
"Oh yeah that" said Caleb "Look Rusty, that's not what I had on my
mind."
"Then what" said Rusty
"IT's you and Me" said Caleb
Rusty turned and looked into Caleb's Eyes. He put his arms around him
and kissed him. Long and hard again. No one was around but Caleb Didn't
care. He stopped and looked back at Caleb.
"Caleb" Said Rusty "What we did was just the liquor talking and well
we are best friends."
Caleb was crushed surprisingly to him.
"I'm not gay" said Rusty "I like Women...It would never work with us."
Caleb got his wits about him.
"Yeah" Said Caleb "You're right. It was just cause we were horny and
no one else was there. I'm not gay either. I mean I love Charlene"
"I love you bud" said Rusty
"I love you too" Said Caleb
Lets go get something in the cafe to eat. |

Meanwhile in the hospital Cafeteria. Velma was sipping a pop with Debbie
and was Pissed.
"God, I don't know why she has to pick tonight to talk to Caleb" Said
Velma
"Hey I'm going to call up to the nurses station and see how kjercia
is" said Debbie.
"Ok" Said Velma "Here comes Caleb and Rusty any ways"
"so any news" Said Caleb
"Nothing" Said Velma "Except"
"What?" said Caleb
"YOur Girlfriend is up there and wants to talk to you" Said Velma sarcastically
"YOu mean Charlene?" asked Rusty
"Yes" Said Velma
"I'm going to go talk to her" Said Caleb "I'll meet you two back up
there"
"fine" Said Velma
Caleb left.
"God I'm going to be so pissed if she is pregnant with his child" said
Velma
"Why?" Said Rusty
"Because she uses him" Said Velma " I know that's why she is here.
She's going to tell Caleb She is pregnant." |

Meanwhile back at the pregnancy waiting room...
Celeste walked in to see Dawna and Charlene
"Great this day just keeps getting better" She said Sarcastically "What
are you two doing here?"
"We need to talk to Caleb" said Charlene
"Well that's not going to happen tonight" Said Celeste "Kjercia's giving
birth to a kid in case you haven't heard."
"It's important" Said Dawna
Celeste looked at the both of them "Oh No" she said
"you are not pregnant"
"That's none of your business" Said Charlene
Celeste looked as if she had been slapped "Excuse me" she exclaimed
Just then Caleb walked in
"Charlene" he said with a smile on his face "I heard you wanted to
talk."
"Caleb this is not the time!" Yelled Celeste
"I need to get this over with" said Caleb "There is a little room a
few doors down" Lets go talk"
Charlene and Caleb left. Rusty and Velma walked in
"Thank god you are here" Said Velma to Celeste "Charlene is here and"
Velma stopped when she noticed Dawna. "Oh I see they are already talking"
"I tried to stop him" said Celeste "but he just wouldn't listen"
"Listen you two." Said Rusty "Let Caleb handle this. He is going to
be happy when this is over"
"Well" Said Dawna "I can see that I am not wanted right now so I'm
going to go get a drink"
"I'll show you where it is" Said Rusty
Rusty and Dawna Left
"I don't understand why Rusty is taking Charlene's side" Said Celeste
"Me neither" Said Velma
Debbie Walked in
"I just talked to the doctor and she said that Kjercia is dilating"
she said "It could be any time."
Just then Barbara walked in "where's my baby?" She said
"I'll take you to her" said Debbie
Debbie and Barbara left
"You know I feel like a jerk" Said Celeste "We have been so absorbed
in our own troubles but no one has even bought anything for the baby"
"Your right" Said Velma "Lets go to the gift shop"
The two left leaving an empty waiting room |

Meanwhile Charlene and Caleb finally get a moments peace in a meeting
room...
"Look Caleb" said Charlene "There is something I have to tell you"
"I already Know" Said Caleb "You are pregnant"
Charlene looked at him
"No I'm not" She said "The reason I needed to get a hold of you is,
I don't want to do this anymore."
Wow twice in one night. Caleb's heart sank
"What do you mean?" asked Caleb
"I don't love you like you love me" Said Charlene "It's time to get
on with your life"
"But Charlene" said Caleb "I can't help my feelings"
"Caleb" said Charlene "MY first love is women. I'm a dyke and always
will be"
"Look" Said Caleb "I can adjust. We can get married and you can still
see women if you want."
"That's not fair to you" Said Charlene "and not fair to me too"
Caleb got up and looked at the wall. "So this is it" he said quietly
"Yes" said charlene just as quietly "I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt
you"
Caleb wanted to cry and scream and yell and leave.
"Well I'm glad you told me" Said Caleb "Look I better go check on Kjercia"
"I better go too" said Charlene "I'm sorry. I still want to be friends
though Caleb"
"Sure" Caleb Said
Charlene hugged caleb and left. Caleb broke down and cried. Just then
Celeste came in and hugged Caleb.
"What did she do?" asked Celeste
"NOthing" Said Caleb. He took a breath "It's over. She's not Pregnant."
Celeste didn't know what to say
"Hey wait a minute" Said Caleb "Didn't Mikah leave today?"
"Yes" Said Celeste Starting to cry
"Look" Said Caleb Crying " We need to go get it together. I'm sure
Kjercia is about ready to pop." |

Meanwhile in Kjercia's room...
Kjercia is smiling holding a baby Boy...
"He's so Beautiful" Said Kjercia
"I think he has your eyes" Said Barbara. "I am so proud of you Kjercia"
"He's going to grow up to be something" said Kjercia "I can feel it"
"You know your friends are here" Said Barbara
"Well go get them" said Kjercia "I want them to meet Jonathan"
Barbara left and came back with Caleb, Velma, Rusty, Celeste, Denise
and Debbie. The girls of course Gushed. The guys pretended to gush. In
Caleb's and Celeste's mind though, it was the perfect end to a shitty day. |
