Rusty's escape...

The day after Halloween,
Celeste and Bob decided to spend the day together or so Celeste had planned....
"Hey where are you off too?" Asked Celeste
"Honey you know I have work to do" replied
Bob
"I thought that we were going to spend today
together"
"Well" Hesitated Bob " Something came up.
But I promise tonight after work we can do something."
"Ok" said Celeste "I'll be waiting"
Bob left for work. Little did Celeste know
that the work Bob did, was not on the up and up...
"Hey" Said Rusty
"Hey" Said Celeste "I have a question for
you"
"Well You better make it quick" said Rusty
" I have a ton of chores to do"
"Ok" said Celeste " I was wondering If you
know where bob works, I want to surprise him for lunch"
"Uh... YOu can't do that" Said Rusty
"Why not"
"Because Bob....." Rusty Hesitated "Bob works
in the field. His work won't allow him to do that"
"Oh cool. What does he do"
"Look I have Chores to do"
Celeste could tell by the expression on Rusty's
face that something wasn't right. "I think YOu know. He doesn't have a
job does he?" said Celeste
"It's not that" Said Rusty "Look, Bob is...
Bob is a drug dealer"
"What?" Said a shocked Celeste
"Look don't tell him or he will kill me" said
Rusty.
"I can't believe he lied to me" Said Celeste
"I gotta go"
"Promise you won't tell Bob" said Rusty
"I promise but you tell him this, We are though"
said Celeste. And she left. Rusty knew he was in deep trouble now. Rusty
hated this life. He was sick of being the Smith family Cinderella. He had
to do something. Maybe Caleb could talk some sense into Celeste. That's
it. Rusty decided to go over to Caleb's. Unfortunately, Celeste was hot
on the trail to Caleb's. |

Unfortunately for the two of them, Caleb wasn't
there. Caleb was leaving a funeral service for a retired teacher at the
High school. Just as he was leaving, he discovered a classmate. Velma Stuart.
Velma had missed the bus home. "Need a ride?"
Said Caleb. "Sure" Said Velma. "So that's too bad about Mrs. Dale" Said
Caleb Making Conversation. "Yeah she had been teaching here for over 30
years." Said Velma. "She taught my mom"
"Hey" said Caleb "Do you wanna go to the Pie
shop and get some Coffee"
"Sure" Said Velma
Caleb and Velma went to the Pie shop and bonded.
Caleb did not realize what a nice person Velma was. As he was heading home,
he felt good about the talk he and Velma had. He even offered to drive
her to school the next day. Caleb was not expecting to be everyone's psychologist
when he got home that night however...
"Caleb" said Caleb's mom "YOu got about Umpteen
messages from Celeste and Rusty and then John and Kim called"
"Ok" said Caleb
"Sheesh" Caleb thought "Grand Central Station.
Now who do I call first. Hmmm" Caleb decided to put names in a hat and
pull one out. He pulled out Rusty. "Rusty huh." He dialed the number
"Hello" said Rusty
"Hey Rusty it's Caleb, What's up?"
"Hey Caleb Can I come over, I need to talk"
"Sure" said Caleb
"Ok bud, I'll be there in a few"
Caleb hung up the phone and called Celeste.
"Hello"
"Hey Celeste, It's Caleb"
"It's about time, where have you been?"
"I was having coffee with someone, why"
"Bob and I are breaking up" Said Celeste "I
found out he is a drug dealer"
"Oh my god" said Caleb "You are kidding"
"No, Rusty told me"
"So did you break up with him?" said Caleb
"Yes well sort of, He doesn't know yet" said
Celeste "I told Rusty to tell him"
"Good" said Caleb "He sounds like a creep,
stay far away from him"
"I will"
"Speaking of which" said Caleb "Rusty is on
his way over right now"
"Probably to talk about that"
"Yeah" said Caleb "Ill let you know what happens" |

It was hours now that Rusty said he was coming
over. Finally Rusty shows up. he is in tears.
"Caleb I've had it, my dad and I had a fight"
said Rusty
"I'm sorry bud" said Caleb
"He kicked me out" said Rusty
"What are you going to do?" said Caleb
"I don't know" said Rusty
"hmmm Maybe I could hide you here for a while"
said Caleb
"I don't want to get you in trouble Caleb"
said Rusty
"You won't" Said Caleb "Besides what are friends
for"
"Thanks Bud" Rusty said as he hugged Caleb
"Look it's getting late and we have school
tomorrow" Said Caleb "we better get to bed."
"Ok" said Rusty "I'll sleep on the floor"
"Look you have had a hard night" said Caleb
"I'll sleep on the floor"
"Caleb we can both fit in the bed it's big
enough" said Rusty
"Ok" said Caleb awkwardly
they got into bed together and turned out
the light. Little did Caleb know that this was the beginning of a long
drawn out relationship.... |
