an accidental Party

It had been about
a month or so since Caleb had heard anything from Joker's Wild when the
phone call came. They wanted to interview Caleb. The interview went well
Caleb thought. After all this was his first ever interview. Lisa the manager
told him he would get a call the next day. So the next day after school
a nervous Caleb and Rusty were waiting at Caleb's house. "I know you are
going to get it." Said an assuring Rusty. "I don't know" said an unsure
Caleb "but I sure hope so".
"Hey what are you doing on Friday?" Asked
Rusty
"I'm not sure" Said Caleb "Hopefully working"
"Well the reason I asked is because my next
door neighbor is going to be gone this week and they asked me to watch
the house. You want to come over?"
"Sure but hopefully after work. You won't
get busted will you?"
Before Rusty could answer that, the phone
rang. Caleb rushed to the phone. "Hello" Said an eager Caleb. "Hello is
Caleb Wysokka there?" Asked the voice. Caleb knew it was Lisa. His heart
jumped. "Yeah this is Caleb." "Caleb I am calling to ask if you would like
to accept the position of our new sales associate at Joker's Wild?" Caleb
was ecstatic and had to calm down. "Yes when can I start?" Said Caleb.
"HOw about tomorrow" said Lisa. "I want to let you know that I was really
impressed with your interview" "Thanks" Said Caleb "I'll see you tomorrow."
Caleb hung up the phone. "I got the job" Caleb yelled. "Right on man" Said
Rusty. Caleb and Rusty talked about it and then Caleb took Rusty home. |

| Rusty couldn't help think of Caleb's luck.
"He had mom and dad, a new job and a car." thought Rusty. "What do I have"
"Paul" Yelled Rusty's dad. "What?" asked Rusty "You're Late" said Paul
sr. "I'm sorry it's just that Caleb got his job and ...." "Caleb, Caleb,
Caleb. That's all I ever hear about anymore. Caleb this, Caleb that. You
would think you two are married." Said Paul Sr. "Now enough of this nonsense.
Go do your chores so you can start your new job this weekend." Rusty hated
this house. He didn't like the job much either. It was his dad's idea to
baby-sit the neighbors house. The only reason Paul was cool with it was
because he got out of chores and the house. Will this turn into a party? |

| Caleb was ecstatic. I'm actually working at
the mall at the Joker's Wild. Caleb didn't know what to expect the next
day after school. The bummer thing is the after school carpools with John,
Kjercia, Celeste, Rusty and Brian were going to be a thing of the past.
Celeste was ok with it. Caleb decided that on Friday Rusty and him could
celebrate. When he got inside to the store he met Lisa. The place was cool.
Magic tricks, Jokes, etc. Lisa gave Caleb the tour of the store. Dawna
was there. "You will train with Dawna today Caleb." "Hey there Doll face."
said Dawna. Dawna was cool. She was short and looked just like a young
Sally Field and she could charm anybody. "Now Charlene will be in soon.
YOu will love her." Said Dawna. Caleb worked the register for a while with
Dawna. All-the-while Caleb was thinking of working his way to the top.
Then all of the sudden She came into the store. Charlene was better than
cool. She was tall thin and a redhead. Caleb had a thing for redheads.
Caleb was instantly drawn toward her. Charlene came up to Caleb "Hi
I'm Charlene." she said. Caleb was stunned. She had the warmest smile and
the bluest eyes. "I'm Caleb. You can call me cabe if you want to." Caleb
was head over heals. Could this be love at first site? Caleb continued
to work and during the evening it got slow. Dawna had left and it was just
Charlene and Caleb. After the store closed Caleb decided to keep Charlene
company for awhile. "Here is the damaged merchandise for today" Said Caleb.
In the midst of bringing the damaged stuff over a novelty joke of over
the hill jellybeans fell to the floor and broke. "Dammit" Said Caleb "I
can be such a klutz" Caleb picked the jelly beans up. Charlene helped.
"Don't worry it was already damaged. Here have one as a snack." said Charlene.
"Uh it's been on the dirty floor" said Caleb "So" said Charlene picking
them up and eating some." You have to open your mind more." Caleb didn't
know what to think of this. On one hand this was disgusting. On the other
hand it was kind of rebellious. Caleb didn't want to risk his life however.
God only knows what was on the floor previously. "i'll Pass " Said Caleb.
"You know we should hang out some time. You seem pretty cool. I could corrupt
you." Said Charlene "I would like that" Said Caleb. "I mean going out."
Caleb didn't want to seem too obvious. The two said their good-byes and
Caleb got into the car and started home. Caleb loved the new job. And the
perks. But he couldn't help but wonder, what was different about Charlene? |

Caleb was still on a natural hi from his first
day on the job. He couldn't get his mind off of Charlene. Cute, warm she
must be taken. Caleb so bad wanted to call and see if Charlene wanted to
do something tonight. HOwever, It was Friday and he promised Rusty. Just
as he was about to leave there was a knock at the door. It was Celeste.
"What are you doing tonight?" Asked Celeste. "I'm going over to Rusty's.
He's house sitting and invited me over." said Caleb "You are spending an
awful lot of time with him these days." said a disappointed celeste. "Oh
god Celeste. Why don't I call him and see if you can come with us." said
Caleb. "Well can I ride with you over there?" Asked Celeste "I will walk
back" Caleb knew the ploy. celeste wanted to get him alone so he could
drop his plans with rusty and instead spend time with Celeste. Probably
talking about Jack all night. The two got into the car and headed over
to Rusty's. "Ill tell you what" Said Caleb "I'll drive you home and we
can talk for a few. Let me drive over and let Rusty know"
When the two got to the place where Rusty
was house sitting, it didn't look like people who lived there were out
of town. In fact it looked like there were visitors. Rusty came outside
when he heard them drive up. "Hey bud" He said to Caleb. Caleb couldn't
put his finger on it, but something was not right with Rusty "HOw's it
going?" asked Caleb. "Great. Hey you brought Celeste cool." "Well I was
going to..." "Hey the more the merrier come inside." The place was nice
two stories. John, Kjercia, and brian were downstairs... all had beer in
their hands. "Would you like a beer?" Said Brian "I would love one" Said
Celeste Caleb couldn't believe his eyes. It was a side of Celeste he had
never seen. "I don't know" Said Caleb "I have to drive tonight" rusty came
over and put his arm around Caleb "Don't worry bud" said a buzzed Rusty
"You can stay here" Caleb didn't know what to think. In a way he wanted
to get shit faced to see what it was like but he had a curfew and had to
be home. Unless... "Ok but before I do, I wanna take the car back home
and ok it with my parents. I'll walk back over." said Caleb "I'll go with
you" Said Paul. Caleb was hoping that his parents wouldn't notice Rusty's
condition but he took the chance. Voila it worked. Caleb was at the party.
Yay. Caleb and Paul got back to the house. There were more people now.
Celeste was hanging on one of them. "Rusty, who is that with Celeste?"
asked Caleb. "That's my brother Bob" Said Rusty. Rusty introduced him to
bob and the new people. There was something about Bob that Caleb didn't
like. Maybe it was because he was with Celeste. Maybe...hmmm. "Hey Cabe
come on I wanna show you something" said Rusty. Caleb followed Rusty. They
went into a small room. Rusty pulled out a plastic zip lock bag filled
with green stuff and a pipe. "Do you smoke weed?" said Rusty. Caleb couldn't
believe it. It was the catch he had been waiting for Rusty was a stoner.
"No I don't" said Caleb. "Wanna try some?"
"I really don't want to"
"come on"
"Look Rusty what you want to do with your
life is fine, I choose not to."
"That's cool."
Rusty looked at Caleb
"I'm glad I met you Caleb" and he hugged Caleb.
Caleb didn't know what to think. "Look we better get out there to the party"
Said Caleb. Back at the party Celeste was working her way into Bob's life.
"So do you want to go back to my place for a while?" Said bob. "Sure" Said
Celeste. Caleb saw them leave. "Celeste what are you doing?" asked Caleb
"I'm going over to Bob's for awhile" said Celeste. "I'll be back in the
morning." Caleb was pissed and getting drunk. He didn't say anything though.
Meanwhile John and Kjercia were getting it on on the pool table. Caleb
wanted nothing more then to sleep. It was late. Rusty sensed this. "Come
on Bud" said Rusty "I'll show you where we are going to sleep" "We?" Thought
Caleb. "Wait a minute, I'm a guy and Rusty's a guy I hope he doesn't think
he's. Nah I must have heard wrong." Rusty showed him into the room.
The room was a guest room with a big queen sized bed. "You sleep on that
side" said Rusty "And I'll sleep on this side" They got into bed. Caleb
was now wide awake. This was all new to him. He felt odd. Sleeping in bed
with a man, Celeste was at Bob's and all he could think about was how he
would rather be opening his mind with Charlene... Oh Well Rusty was snoring
now so the coast was clear. It was all right to sleep. |
