Meet the Parent...

| Caleb was fearing
the next day. If Celeste and Jack broke up, it would be nothing but "Jack
did this and Jack did that." But if they didn't break up it would be "I
know he loves me because, or He was so sweet last night, or Jack Jack Jack."
Caleb had to think fast. But Caleb couldn't stop thinking about last night.
Kjercia and Rusty and him had fun. Although none of them watched the game.
That wasn't the point of the game. It was to gossip. Ah such is life. Caleb
decided to do the right thing and call Celeste. After all they were best
friends. It was too late, there was a knock at the door. It was Celeste
who had obviously been crying. Caleb let her in. "He...he..It's ...Over."
Cried Celeste. "Oh Celeste, I'm sorry. "Said Caleb offering comfort. "I
don't believe it, I thought he was in love with me and then, last night
when I went over there... he,... he... has a bitch over there! "Said a
shaken Celeste. "Well Celeste, come on, there are other guys. He was a
Jerk" Said Caleb in a supportive tone. "I don't want anyone else" Said
Celeste "I want Jack." Caleb was concerned. This was going to be a wasted
Saturday. "You know what you need Celeste?" Offered Caleb "You and I need
to go to the mall, ooh and lets go to the new club Chita's tonight" "You
know maybe you are right, Maybe I should get out." Said Celeste. "Besides
we can talk in the car." Caleb thought this was great because he had planned
to go to the mall and Chita's but he didn't want to go to Chita's alone
and he certainly didn't want to ruin his plans. The two got into the car

| Rusty! Rusty get out here! Yelled a man with
a deep voice. "What?" said Rusty. "It's 6:00, do you have dinner ready"
"Yes sir" Said Rusty. Rusty hated life at home. Ever since his mom died,
Rusty did everything. He felt like Cinderella. He wanted to leave. He wanted
to hang with Caleb. Last night Kjercia, Caleb and Rusty talked about going
to Chita's the new dance club. "Hey dad" Rusty asked the man. "What?" Said
Rusty's dad. "Can I hang with Caleb tonight" asked Rusty. "I don't know
Rusty, did you do all your chores" Said Rusty's dad. Rusty had a hard time
answering that. He had a ton of things to do just because he was the baby.
Rusty hated his dad. His dad was lazy probably depressed since his mom
died. Rusty was named after his dad. So they both had the name Paul. "Yes"
Lied Rusty. "Ok but I want to meet this Caleb first and you need to be
back by midnight you hear. "warned Paul Sr. "Ok" perked up Rusty. Rusty
Called Caleb. A voice at the other end answered. "Hello?" "Hi my name is
Paul, Is Caleb there? "asked Rusty. "No he is at the mall right now but
can I ask who's calling" said the voice. Rusty figured it was Caleb's mom
and gave him his information. Rusty hoped he would talk to Caleb again.

| Things weren't all grand at the mall. Caleb
had heard two hours of how JAck was nice, Jack was bad, and was sick of
it. He thought about changing the subject. "Hey I invited Kjercia and Rusty
tonight to Chita's" stated Caleb. "Oh really" Said and saddened Celeste
" I was hoping it would be just you and I" "Well Celeste, I didn't know
for sure you would be going tonight." Celeste's didn't say anything but
Caleb really did want Celeste to go. It would be a therapy for her and
the thought of having a gang of friends for the first time ever really
made Caleb happy. The two walked into the 'Joker's Wild' I know what will
cheer you up" Caleb said while he picked up a box, "Edible Undies!!!" "Ew,
you're disgusting" replied Celeste. "You know I wonder what it would be
like to work here" Said Caleb making conversation "You could find out"
Said Celeste, "They are hiring" Caleb went to the counter. "Hey there doll
face" Said a woman who's name tag said Dawna. Dawna looked just like
a young Sally Field and was only about 4' 6" but she was sexy. "Uh I was
wondering about the job you have open." Said a stunned Caleb. Stunned at
the thought that anyone would call him doll face. "Sure honey, here's an
application. I'm the Assistant manager. Just fill this out and bring it
back. We are hiring for two associates." Said Dawna. Caleb thanked Dawna
and him and Celeste headed home. |

| Caleb was not prepared for the night ahead.
This was the gang. Here came Caleb's self Consciousness again. Would he
fit in, Would everyone like Celeste better?, Would he get his ass kicked
at the club? Would Paul's dad think he was a fag? Caleb didn't know but
he decided to rely on Celeste and pick her up first. That way Celeste could
go to Rusty's with him and meet his dad. But when Caleb got to Celeste's
she wasn't even dressed yet. "Go get Rusty, I'm still doing my hair" said
Celeste. "But, I said," Started Caleb "Don't worry I will be done in a
few minutes." Ever since Caleb knew Celeste a few minutes meant a couple
of hours. Caleb got hesitantly into the car and drove over to Rusty's.
When he got there Rusty came outside. "Ready to meet my dad?" asked Rusty.
"Sure. "Said Caleb hoping that someone would nominate him for an oscar
for best actor. Caleb followed Rusty into a two story house. The place
was pretty empty but messy. There were old newspapers everywhere. In the
living room there was a couch that had a man lying on it watching Tv. In
front of the man was a coffee table. Caleb couldn't believe his eyes. There
were at least 10 prescription bottles there. "So you're Caleb" Said the
man sternly. "Yes I live down the street" remarked Caleb. "Do you drink?"
Quizzed the man "No" said Caleb "Smoke?" Caleb hesitated. Rusty Smoked
too so he felt no harm in telling the truth. "Yes" Said Caleb. "Pot" Said
Paul Sr. "No" Said Caleb. "You have Paul back by midnight" said Paul sr.
Caleb was relieved. He passed the test! Caleb and Rusty left. Caleb went
to get Kjercia and then went to get Celeste who took 1/2 hour more to do
her hair. When the four got to the club, they parked the car and went inside.
Caleb liked what he saw. This was a hopping club. Rusty looked around for
women. Kjercia went and danced, and Celeste was collecting her thoughts
of the weekend. "Maybe it was good for Jack and I to break up" Thought
Celeste, and one of Caleb's and her songs came on. The two danced the night
away... |
