A bag full of Problems

Caleb was wondering why Charlene called
last night. He called her.
"Hello" Said Charlene
"Hey Charlene, It's Caleb, I've been worried about you all night."
"I'm a little better. Rhanda moved out"
Caleb thought he won the lottery but to be supportive, he contained
himself
"Gosh Charlene" said a sympathetic Caleb "I'm really sorry"
"That's ok" said Charlene "She actually called this morning. She's
going to join the Navy"
"Really?" Said Caleb with a confused voice
"Yep" Said Charlene. "She may be back every now and then though"
"Well is there anything I can do?" Said Caleb
"Well" Said Charlene "Why don't we go out this weekend"
Caleb thought for a minute. "Gee Charlene this weekend is the Prom.
Hey wait a minute, I still don't have a date, You want to go?"
"Well" Said Charlene "I'm not sure I'm up to that."
"I understand" Said Caleb "You know, I would probably have a lame time
at Prom anyway. Why don't we go out?"
"Ok" Said Charlene "Pick me up around 8 on Saturday"
"Will Do' Said Caleb
As he put down the phone, Rusty came out to talk to him.
"Hey Bud"
"Hey Rusty" said Caleb "Look We have to talk. I don't know how this
living situation is going to work. I haven't even asked my parents yet"
"Look" Said Rusty "I know, give me a month"
"How?"
"Just sneak me in at night. Then in the morning you can take me to
school." said Rusty
"Ok But there are going to be ground rules" Said Caleb "If Charlene
and I are going out, You need to find anther place to stay"
"Ok" said Rusty
"I can't sneak you in when I'm not here" said Caleb
"I know" Said Rusty
"And no bringing home people" said Caleb "it's just you"
"ok" said Rusty "and I promise I'll pay for my own food"
Caleb Grinned "I can't wait to see how we will pull this one off'.
Anyway, I have to go see how Celeste's night went last night"

Meanwhile at Velma's. Velma was planning to go to the prom. She
had one problem. She didn't have anyone to go with. "hmm" she thought "Maybe
I'll call Caleb"
"Hello" Rusty answered
"Hello' Said Velma "Is Caleb There?"
"No he just went to Celeste's."
"oh" Said Velma "I was just calling to see if he wanted to go to
the prom"
"Well I'll let him know" Said Rusty "Hey are you doing anything
today?"
"No" Said Velma
"Pick me up" Said Rusty "Lets go do something" |

Meanwhile over at Celeste's...
"So tell me all about Mikah" said Caleb
"He's Perfect for me" Said Celeste
"Really"
"Yes Except there is one small problem" Said Celeste
"Wait let me guess " said Caleb "He's Gay"
"No"
"Married"
"No" Said Celeste "He's a foreign exchange Student"
"OH" Said Caleb Not knowing what to say
"He's going back to Finland next month after graduation" Said Celeste
"Well" Said Caleb "Maybe he will move back"
"NO" Said Celeste "WE have decided to enjoy each other while we
can"
"That Sucks" Said Caleb "Finally you get the perfect man and he's
leaving"
"I know" said Celeste
"Well are you at least going to the prom" said Caleb
"Yes" Said Celeste "But not Marysville's, I'm going to his prom"
"Cool."
"Hey what about you?" Asked Celeste "are you going to the Prom"
"No" said Caleb "I'm going to go out with Charlene"
"Caleb" Said a concerned Celeste "Are you sure you want to do that?
It's your senior year"
"Prom is no big deal to me" Said Caleb "It never has besides who
has the money for that fancy stuff"
"Caleb" Said Celeste "I just don't want you to get hurt"
"I won't" Said Caleb "I know what I'm doing"
Caleb left Celeste's and ended up going home. When he got to the
house, he found a note from Rusty that Velma wanted to go to the Prom with
him. He called Velma and left a message that he was going out with Charlene. |
